By adopting a horse, you make a commitment to take care of the horse for the rest of its life.

HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT ADOPTING?

• First, come and see all the nice horses we have.
• Second, after you have chosen one, fill out an application for adoption.
• Third, fill out an agreement with Mt.Hope Stables & Rescue, Inc.
• Fourth, we will deliver your horse to you (for $35) or you pick up your horse.

There are two ways you can foster a horse:

1. You can take the horse home and keep it for 30 days. See how you like the horse, try it first thing.Then, if you like the horse, you can keep it. We will hold the stall open for you for 30 days. To trail the horse costs $35+one way.
2. You can take a horse or two horses home to keep them for a longer period of time. This will help us GREATLY because we have horses that don't get along with each other and we have horses ON WAITING LISTS THAT NEED GOOD HOMES NOW. If you feel that you can help us in this way, it would help horses who really need someone to take care of them. You would be responsible for their care completely as if it were your own horse.

When our barns are full, to take a horse and become a foster parent would be a blessing!

ITS THAT SIMPLE!!

Because each horses' welfare is our concern, you may or may not qualify for adoption. We exercise, groom and care for our horses 4-6x a week. They are brought into our barn in bad weather or whatever is required for their well-being. Our staff of horse trainers, helpers and volunteers care for every animal to the highest standards. Every horse is up-to-date on their shots and foot care. We dont take shortcuts.
